Dianne Seiffert Landscape Design

About Us

Dianne Seiffert Landscape Design was founded in 1984 with emphasis on custom residential and institutional landscape design.  Dianne Seiffert, Principal, directs every project.  She works closely with her Associate, landscape architect Christie Ciabotti.  Project locations primarily are in the Mid-Atlantic States, with others as far afield as New England and Washington State.

Our practice places priority on excellent communications with clients and contractors, the intrigue of each season, the combination of practicality, creativity and quality for thoroughly realized results in design and execution, and creation of unique spaces people love to use and become a part of.  Residential designs include classic and contemporary gardens for primary and vacation homes – urban, suburban, rural, shore and mountain settings, and historic and environmentally sensitive sites.  Institutional designs include a memorial garden, embassy grounds, and sites for children and the elderly.  From beginning to end, every project receives our careful attention to the full range of hardscape and planting design and construction phase management services.

Dianne Seiffert brings to this practice her lifelong, close observation of the out-of-doors instilled by her plant-loving parents, extensive travels through America’s diversity of landscapes in all seasons, and studies of eastern philosophy and meditation.  She received a BA in political science from Denison University.   She honed her interest in landscape design during employment in the international, regional and urban planning fields.  After completing George Washington University’s Certificate Program in Landscape Design, she worked for urban design and landscape architecture firms before forming her own company.

Christie Ciabotti holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia, and worked previously for nationally recognized landscape architecture firms.   She brings to this practice her thorough experience in research and design of elements in the landscape, and management of projects from design through installation.
